Seasonal service catches the cheap problems before they become the expensive kind — and keeps the system efficient through the seasons that work it hardest.
What a real tune-up covers
Coil condition, refrigerant charge, electrical connections and capacitor health, condensate drainage, blower and airflow, thermostat calibration, and — on heating — burners and safety controls. The point is to find the part that's drifting before it fails on the year's hottest or coldest day.
Why it pays
A clean, correctly-charged system uses less power to do the same job and fails less at the worst moments. Most major breakdowns telegraph themselves months ahead — maintenance is when someone's actually looking.
Timing
Cooling season prep in spring, heating season prep in fall. If it's been years since anyone looked at the system, any time is the right time to start.
