What we look for
A proper A/C diagnosis walks the whole system: refrigerant pressures, the compressor and capacitor, airflow at the coil, the condensate line, electrical connections, and the thermostat's story about what the system thinks it's doing. Most "my A/C died" calls trace back to one failed component — not a dead system.
Repair or replace?
An honest repair-versus-replace answer weighs the age of the unit, what the failed part costs to fix, how the system has been holding up each season, and whether refrigerant type makes future service harder. When a repair makes sense, we say so. When you'd be pouring money into a unit that's past saving, we say that too — straight answers either way.

Why is my A/C running but not cooling?
Common causes include low refrigerant from a leak, a failed capacitor, a frozen evaporator coil, or airflow problems. The fix depends entirely on which one it is — that's what the diagnostic visit determines.
Why does it need a recharge every summer?
It shouldn't. Refrigerant doesn't get used up — if it's low every season, you have a leak. Finding and fixing the leak beats topping it off year after year.
