They always have the a/c
The most challenging thing about living in an apartment was getting used to the walls being super thin… I grew up in a property out in the country with 5 siblings, plus we were as loud plus rambunctious as could be! I lived in that house until I was twenty years old, at which point I decided to move into the town with a friend so I could be closer to school. It was especially frustrating to not only have to carry my laundry up plus down numerous flights of stairs to scrub my clothes, but to also make sure I had at least 4 dollars worth in quarters! Still, as I mentioned earlier, the hardest change was trying to keep it down. I could clearly hear the conversation my neighbors were having on the other side of the wall, which was honestly enough to make me think there was just a sizable sheet of paper between us. What’s worse was how loud the heating plus cooling system units were in those apartments! There were times where I’d be entirely asleep, only to be so startled by the cooling equipment turning on that I practically leapt out of bed! On the other side of the wall, my neighbors would operate their cooling equipment from dusk until dawn, so it sounded sort of like I was trying to sleep in a boxcar! It was so aggravating to me that these heating plus cooling system units were so loud, yet they only kept the place comfortable as long as it wasn’t hotter than eighty degrees or incredibly nippy. I don’t miss living in that apartment in the least, plus those memories only make me enjoy my new home that much more… Especially since my HVAC equipment is only a year old, so it’s easily up-to-date plus works basically like a dream.
