The thermostat is giving us issues
I can’t remember the last time that the weather outside was so cold. The normal temperatures are closer to 40 or 50 degrees, during this time of the year. Last night’s cold temperatures were closer to the freezing mark. I’ve already adjusted the thermostat, and changed it to the heating setting. For the first time in three years, we actually have to use the heating system. I normally keep the thermostat set to 72 degrees, but I turned on the heat to 74 degrees. Every time I walk by the thermostat, I find myself wanting to adjust the heating system. It feels so cold inside of the house, and it doesn’t feel much warmer outside either. My wife and I have been arguing about the thermostat settings, because she wants to keep our thermostat set to 75 degrees. At 75 degrees, the house feels like an oven, and that isn’t very comfortable to me at all. I would prefer the outdoor temperatures to stay around 60 degrees throughout the entire year. That would make me very happy. My wife and I compromise, by keeping the heating system set to 72 degrees during the day. At night, my wife keeps a heating blanket on our bed. I can barely sleep through the night, because it is so hot in the bedroom. Unfortunately, it’s the only way that my wife can sleep comfortably. She tends to get cold very easily, so we have to keep the bedroom warm and toasty. The cold temperatures are suppose to last another week or two, and then we will be back to our normal humid environment.
